Brian W. Smith is the author of ten novels – four have become best sellers (Mama’s Lies – Daddy’s Pain, DEADBEAT, BEATER, andNina’s Got a Secret). He is also the owner of Hollygrove Publishing; the Independent Publishing house has produced 17 novels since 2006.
Brian’s 2008 Dallas Morning News Best Seller, Nina’s Got a Secret , was voted to the Sankofa Literary Society’s “Top 100 Books of the Decade” list; and was featured on the Oprah Book Club “What to Read” list.
Due to his success as an author, in April 2011, Brian received an offer from the publishing giant Simon and Shuster. In an almost unheard of move in today’s literary climate, Simon and Shuster purchased the rights to re-release Nina’s Got a Secret in paperback and ebook form; while allowing Brian to maintain his “Independent Publisher” status and continue to produce books under his own Hollygrove Publishing label.

Brian continues to expand his“literary territory” by engaging in projects outside of writing novels. He is the co-host of one of the most popular internet literary radio shows – “On the Air with Trice and Brian”. Brian is also a member of the successful all male literary tour, The Love Literature Tour and recently accepted a position as an Adjunct Professor of Creative Writing at Collin County Community College (McKinney, TX).
Brian’s educational background consists of two Bachelor of Science Degrees (Business Administration and Criminal Justice) and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Dallas. Brian is a native of New Orleans, La., and currently lives in Dallas, Texas.
